This morning my family’s sweet kitty passed away. When my mom called and told me this morning I got so sad. I’ve known him for a big chunk of my life. He suddenly got very sick this past weekend and his liver failed. He wasn’t very old so it was a big shock. I’ve taken for granted the fact that whenever I go home he’ll be there. It’s so sad to think that he won’t keep watch outside of the room I’m sleeping in again, that he won’t head butt my leg anymore, and that I won’t see him buffing my parent’s windows again. People that know me well know how much I love animals. I loved Buff, and I’ll miss him so much. Thanks for the memories little Buff!

Things I Love Fridays – Easter Edition
I love this time of year. It’s getting a bit warmer, the birds are starting to chirp, and Easter candy is plentiful. Last year I felt like I could stuff my face with any candy I wanted because I was nursing but now I have tried to stay away from buying any candy that I’ll open and eat before Easter. I figure I’ll just enjoy the candy even more because I’ve been waiting until Easter to eat it. Out of all the delicious Easter candy out there these are my favorites:
I remember being so excited when I’d find these in my Easter basket growing up. I’d save them as long as I could because I was so excited to eat them (weird logic right?) Sometimes one would even last a week before I decided to eat it. I hope this year the Easter bunny will drop off some of these for me!

Dresses for Carly
I’ve told Casey a lot lately how blessed we are to have had a girl first. I say this partly because I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have a little girl to make things for! I love coming up with new sewing ideas for things to make for Carly.
Lately I’ve been making skirts and dresses for Carly. It all started when I bought a pattern to make a smocked skirt for my sister. Then I used the extra fabric to make my sister’s daughter a matching dress and then Carly a matching dress and on and on.

Texas
Carly and I went to College Station, TX this week to visit my sister Kari and her family. We had an amazing time. College Station is such a nice city. I fell in love with it while we were there. It was so nice to wear shorts and a T-shirt and bask in the warmth of Texas. I couldn’t get over finally being able to see Carly’s cute little chubby arms!
Carly and Ethan (2 years) had fun playing with each other (for the most part). They got pretty protective of the toys they were playing with. One minute they’d be fighting and the next they’d be hugging and giggling.
My bro-in-law Aaron is going to graduate school at Texas A&M so Kari showed me the gigantic campus and we stopped at the Bonfire Memorial. When I unstrapped Carly from her stroller she went crazy running everywhere she could. I realized it was the first time she'd been able to run around outside. She started walking when it was pretty cold outside in WI.
Oh how I loved that green grass!
Carly played on a playground for her first time too!
One of the days we went to a children’s museum. There were a bunch a fun hands-on activities for the kids, even a lot for kids Carly’s age.
This pic sums up Carly and Ethan’s relationship:
Carly loved playing with Uncle Aaron. She constantly wanted to sit on his lap and be held by him.
Thank you Kari and Aaron for such a fun week!
First Haircut!
A few weeks ago Carly got her first haircut! She did awesome. She loved sitting in the little car at the salon. She even got to watch Dora on TV while she was getting her hair cut. It was really hard to get her leave. She cried the whole way home!

Things I love Fridays – Sarasa Pens
I could spend hours on the bottom floor of the bookstore at BYU. I love looking at all the pens, notecards, planners, folders etc. I especially love the huge supply of multi-colored pens down there. During my days at BYU I bought and tried out many of those pens. My favorites were and still are Sarasa pens. They come in awesome colors and write beautifully. For Christmas Casey gave me a set of them. The green and pink ones are my most favorites!

Things I Love Fridays - Community
Last night Casey and I couldn’t stop laughing while we were watching Community. It’s hilarious. It’s one of my favorites TV shows now. I even think I’m starting to like it more than The Office (which, in my opinion, has kind of gone downhill the past couple of seasons).
Here’s a clip from a few episodes ago. Chevy Chase cracks me up!
