Carly the talker, growler, and high-fiver

Carly has been talking a lot lately and she actually performed for the camera today! She has been screaming and growling a ton too - especially when we're in public places. She is so much fun, we can't get enough of her!

4-h gone right

I've been sewing a lot lately during Carly's naps. It's been so much fun to think of things I can make! Last month I got into a taggie blanket making frenzy. My amazing seamstress friend Stephanie taught me how to make them and I couldn't stop! I came up with different minky/fabric/ribbon combos and the possiblilties were endless. When I got tired of making those I moved onto making bigger baby blankets. Carly loves silky fabrics so I made her a full size silky/minky blanket. It was pretty hard to sew with satin so I think that may be my one and only silky baby blanket projects. Now I just need to perfect my skills so I can sew more than a square!

7 months old!

Carly is growing up faster than I can believe! She's becoming more and more independent by the day. She likes to play on her own and read books on her own now (sometimes upside down). We love her so much!
New things in Carly's life this month:
-likes to drink out of sippy cups
-likes cold baby food
-has said mama and dada (not purposefully yet...)
-is pretty close to crawling - she can scoot in circles on her tummy
-is 17 lbs 11oz

Blanding

Thanks to my SIL Maryn for sending me pictures of our trip to Blanding! We drove from Centerville to Blanding the day after we got to Utah. It was about a 6 hour drive and Casey's parents were so kind to let us drive with them. It's a lot more enjoyable when you have a fun group in the car to talk to! Carly did awesome on the drive. She slept a lot. It made Casey and I want to take more road trips! We spent our three days there hanging out with family, riding four-wheelers, and going to our neice Taya's blessing in Bluff. We have a lot of fun talking and spending time with family. We were expecting it to be warm, nice weather there but most of the time is was rainy and cold. We didn't bring any warm clothes for Carly so we headed down to a local store and bought Carly some sweatsuits and a "skimpy onesie" (I'll post pics). We'll always remember The Green Family Reunion '09! Thanks everyone for making it such a fun time for us!

Carly with her cousins Emersyn and Taya. Emersyn is 2 weeks older than Carly. They'll have a lot of fun playing with each other in the future!

We visited the dinosaur museum in Blanding to get out of the rain.

We love Grandma & Grandpa!

I am 23!

My birthday was on Friday and now I'm 23! Yes, I really am only 23 all you old farts! I had an amazing birthday. Casey was so sweet to plan a birthday party for me. He got me a Sam's cake and invited some friends over. Everyone was so extremely kind to spend time with me on my birthday. It was so fun!

Casey also got me a jogging stroller! I'm so excited to be able to safely jog with Carly now (not that I've attemped to jog with her in the umbrella stroller...). Today we went shopping to some outlets and I got some very cute clothes with birthday money from my parents and Casey's parents. Thank you everyone for making my birthday amazing!

Utah fun

We've been back from Utah for a week but we haven't had a workable computer until today so finally here are some Utah trip pics. We realized that we didn't take any pictures at the Green family reunion in Blanding. I will get some and post them later. We had an awesome time in Utah. It was so fun to spend four straight days with Casey's whole family and then spend time with my family too.

Carly was an awesome traveler besides the flight home. She kept tugging at her ears the whole trip but I thought nothing of it because she's been doing it for weeks and seemed fine. Also at her well-child checkup a couple weeks ago the doctor said her ears were perfectly fine. On the flight from SLC to Denver she cried for 30 minutes staight. She was even too upset to take a bottle. I was more worried about her than embarrased because she never acts like that. A couple days after we got home I took her to the doctor and low and behold she had an ear infection. Poor girl.

While in Provo, Carly and I hit up some of my local food favorites: Gandolfos, Cafe Rio, and Snowie. I would've hit up more places but after Cafe Rio my already fragile tummy could handle no more. I also made my way to Costco, Goldsmith (I try to get my ring cleaned whenever I go to Provo), and some other places with my familia. It was tons of fun! Thanks to Casey's and my family for being so kind to us while we were there. We loved it.

My dad loves Costco. Especially the tool aisle.

Carly met her new cousins Taylor and Thomas for the first time.
Carly got to play with all of Grandma and Grandpa's toys. It's crazy to think that I played with the same toys when I was her age!
Carly loved hanging out with her Uncle Jacob.
