Carly’s Animal Noises

Carly is obsessed with animals.  She screams when she sees a dog on the side of the street or a bird fly by.  One of my favorite things in the world is hearing her animal noises. I finally got her to perform for the camera!

What we’ve been up to

Carly has had so much fun playing with cousins!  My mom had a water party for all the grandkids last week.  I love seeing Carly playing with her cousins.

Carly asks to blow bubbles almost 20x a day. We sit out on the porch for a good portion of the day playing outside and blowing bubbles.  We’ve gone through a lot of bubbles and I’ve come to really appreciate good bubbles.  I even resorted to making my own with glycerin.

Our Wisconsin family, the Farrenkopfs came to drop Katie off at BYU and we have had so much fun with them!  Carly goes to sleep asking for Ann and right when she wakes up in the morning she says “Ann?”

My little brother Jacob is an awesome tumbler and he taught Carly how to do somersaults a few days ago.  Now she can’t stop doing them!  Here’s a video of her doing them:

Life as an MBA student’s wife…

…has been awesome, so far. I absolutely love being in Provo again. It still feels like we’re on vacation and I have been loving every minute of it,  which is the main reason why I have put off blogging for a while.

Casey has been in MBA Orientation for 10 days now, and there have been some activities with the students’ families and spouses.  I have met so many people during these past 2 weeks, and it has been a lot of fun.  I am so amazed at how good these people are.  Everyone is so friendly and kind.

It has also been extremely fun being wined and dined by BYU.  Last night all the new MBA students and their spouses went to listen to Sheri Dew in the new Hinckley Alumni building.  We enjoyed an open “bar” with Italian sodas made to order.  I was in heaven sipping my coconut lime while admiring the beautiful mountain view, but then Casey reminded me that my free Italian soda was really $20,000.

On Casey’s first day of school last week I made him pose on the front porch in classic Hatch fashion.

This morning Casey took off on an MBA retreat.  He will be river rafting in Idaho until Sunday.  I do not envy him.  I’m glad that he likes that kind of stuff though.   On Monday he starts his real classes, which means that he will then belong to a “new” family.   Wish him AND me good luck!

We’re alive

We’ve had a crazy last week, as moving is always crazy right?  We have half of our things in a storage unit and the other half at my parent’s house.  We’ve realized some things were put in storage that aren’t supposed to be in storage, and they are pretty much impossible to get out!  Everything is stacked 10 feet high in that thing!

It still feels like we’re on vacation and not actually living here.  I think things will hit us when Casey starts school in 2 weeks.

We have already loved being around family and Carly has loved playing with the loads of cousins that have been around.  She has been in heaven with all the space she has to run around in too.

Casey and I love being close to campus again.  We love BYU campus and all things BYU.  We are so excited to be back!  A few days ago we walked around the new wing of the Tanner building to check out where Casey will be pretty much living for the next 2 years.  It’s way nice, and it got Casey excited to be back in school (we’ll see if that excitement lasts!)  Every time I walk around BYU campus I am amazed at how nice they keep everything, and how pretty the grounds are.

When the craziness subsides (hopefully next week) I’ll start posting regularly again!
