Baby update

Yesterday I went to the doctor. It's so weird to me that I go every week now. My doctor told me that the baby's head is down (I definitely came to that conclusion on my own this past week), I'm 50% effaced, and I'm already dilated 1 cm. She said I'm already making great progress. I asked her if she could tell how big the baby is and she told me the baby's a little over 6 lbs right now. I was so excited to hear all this information because it means we're going to have a baby soon!

P.S. Here's a website that I've liked checking: www.babysteals.com. It's a Utah company that a friend told me about. They put a new, popular, usually boutiqueish baby item up every morning that's at least 50% or more off, and they keep it up until it sells out that day. They sometimes have weird stuff that's over priced, but I keep checking to see if there will ever be something that's a really good deal.

Decorating

For the longest time I had been trying to find cute stuff to decorate the baby's room with. I didn't want to just go for the wooden block letters that spell a name and call it good. At the same time I didn't want to spend a lot of money. So Whitney gave me the great idea of making things to decorate the room with. I made these cute wall hangings and I think they turned out really well considering they are really easy and cheap to make.

We love fall

I realized that that haven't posted any pictures for a long time. Casey is great to remind me to take my camera places but then I always forget to actually take pictures. Here are some recent pictures.

We got a glider chair after finally selling our futon! Casey loves it so much that is was hard for him to move it from our family room into the baby's room. It took a couple of weeks.

Our beautifully carved pumpkins.

A Cereal Treasure

There are some foods that I like a lot and then there are some foods that I adore. Muffin Tops is one of those that I adore. It is the best cereal in the world. I had never tried it until Casey let me in on the secret when we went shopping for the first time together. Now I am hooked FOREVER. If you haven't tried it you must! It tastes just like you're eating a blueberry muffin top, except it's better. The only place that sells it in Wisconsin is Walmart in the bagged cereal section.

Final Countdown

I'm due in one month exactly! I thought this day would never come. We've been to all the baby classes, read all the books, the room is 80% ready (I'll post pictures once it's at least 95%), and I'm starting to get a little anxious. It's so hard for me to not know exactly what is going to happen! I'm not a laid-back person at all. It's crazy to think that the baby can just come at anytime now. Casey and I are so incredibly excited. It's all seeming much more real now that we're in the final 4 weeks. Now we just need to find a name we like!

Politics

I was reading my sister Kari's blog and after reading one of her posts I realized that I, like her, am very lucky to have a family that is very into politics. Growing up my family would always have interesting conversations about politics probably because my mom is a republican and my dad is a democrat. I learned from them how important it is to be an educated voter.

I was talking to my dad on the phone today about Provo politics. My parents are supporting a lady running for state senate. She's running against a man who has been in office for a long time. Recently a "controversy" came out about him and how he treated a pizza delivery girl. She blogged about what happened and now it's received a lot of attention on the news all over in Utah, and even as far as Texas. You can read her blog entry here:

I thought it was really interesting.Sadly I don't think the lady running against him will win the election because he continues to be reelected election after election! I hope people in Provo will not just vote for someone because they're the incumbent and a Mormon - it doesn't always mean that they are a good, honest person!
