Today it felt really warm in Milwauks. Come to find out it was 35 degrees. This weekend was very relaxing. Because Fridays are my busiest days I am always so excited for Saturday and Sunday. My class on Friday was alright. I mention my class because my pass out phobia came back on Friday right before class.
For people that don't know about my pass out phobia, it all started my Senior year of high school when I passed out in my anatomy class. We were watching an animated movie about how bones break, and I passed out and hit my head really hard on the desk behind me. I woke up and found a random kind in my class putting a paper towel on my forehead. Since then there have been a lot of times when I feel like I'm going to pass out, and I get really scared and make myself almost pass out. In my PDBio 220 class at BYU (Cadaver lab class) I would have to walk out of class almost every day for a few minutes and regroup. I think it's all mental because I thought this phobia left me because of recent events that took place in which I did not pass out when I would have otherwise passed out (does that makes sense?) Anyway, I was looking over my syllabus before I had to leave to class on Friday and I read the topic, "Implantable Devices." I know this topic doesn't sound worthy of a pass out, but from my experiences in Audiology classes about "Implantable Devices," it is the most pass out worthy of any Audiological topic.
Side note: Implantable devices (Cochlear implants, middle ear implants...) are put into the ear by drilling a hole into the mandible after which a hole is drilled into the cochlea (inner ear). I could go on for days about how yucky this process is, but the worst part is having to watch this surgery take place! In one of my classes at BYU I had to leave class early because I felt the pass out coming on from watching this exact thing (and seeing a picture of a bug in a guy's ear).
So, I was debating on whether I should go to class or not. I was afraid that I would have to get up and leave during class or I'd throw up or something. I talked myself into going. I couldn't skip a class that I paid $1,200 for! To make a long story short, I was fine. The movie we watched didn't show any surgery stuff, and I had plenty of pretzels to snack on to keep my mind off of the topic.
Other than Friday, the rest of the weekend was great. We went to the temple on Saturday, then to Famous Dave's afterwards. We heard from a friend that Famous Dave's was really good. It was good but the ambiance wasn't so good.

Lazy Sunday
Today church was canceled because of freezing rain and flooding. It was a nice relaxing day, but Casey and I both got cabin fever. We couldn't get ourselves to go outside and brave the elements though. We spent the day writing in our journals and watching Church History videos. The missionaries came over and visited for a while too. It ended up not looking bad at all outside. I could imagine the roads being slippery but it pretty much just looked like normal rain all day.
Tomorrow is President's Day which means that it's "Now to Wow" for all Educators Credit Union employees. "Now to Wow" is just a big conference in Racine that we all have to go to. It's usually pretty fun because they give us good food and we can wear whatever we want. They have fun contests too. A couple months ago a member service rep at my branch won an all-inclusive week trip to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. I hope I win something this time!
This video is funny. It's a remake of the original one from SNL. SNL took the original off of YouTube, but this one is pretty much the same just without Parnell and Sandburg :)

Valentines and other happenings
Valentines Day was great! Casey gave me a really cute heart charm bracelet (I dropped a few hints). Casey was so cute to surprise me with treats and the bracelet. I had no idea that he had got me anything. I got him a floating picture frame for his diploma and I put all of his mission letters in a booklet.
I went to work during the morning and I took everyone at work cute baggies with cookies in them, which made another lady I work feel bad because she had brought cookies for everyone too. Everyone liked mine better because they had pink M&M's in them. Later that night it started snowing pretty hard but we still went to PF Changs. mmmm. It was so good!
Another thing, I cut my hair! I was really scared to cut it because I've been growing it out since high school. I went to a place called Vici, which is like Bon Losee in Provo. I had a student highlight my hair and she did a really good job. It took her 3 hours though... The place closes at 4:00 and she started taking out the foil from the highlighting at 4:00, so she had 30 minutes to cut my hair and I was really worried because she was acting like she was in a hurry, and all the other girls were leaving. She cut my hair in 20 minutes and my back was hurting really bad from sitting in weird positions for the 3 hours so I was ready to go. The instructor came to check my hair and she said it looked really cute, so I felt alright about it, until I went home. Yikes, I have never had such a bad hair cut! I asked her to layer the back but she cut 2 layers like 1 inch apart from one another so it looked horrible. Casey even said it looked like she weedwacked my hair. So... I went and got it fixed that night somewhere else. Moral of the story don't get your haircut by a student. Highlights are alright but no cutting! I'm happy with it now though.
Today at school we got to try out hearing aids. It was really weird to think that something that looks so cheap is really like a mini computer and actually really expensive. Right after school I had to run to work. At work everyone was talking about a lady from the ghetto motel across the street from our work that had sprinted across the street. She ran into our credit union. She was running away from her boyfriend and she was only wearing a t-shirt with nothing on underneath and no pants. She was totally naked! The manager of the credit union gave her a blanket to cover up while the police came, but supposedly her boyfriend was abusing her or something. They should make a movie out of the stories at my work. I love it.

Super Tuesday
Last week was crazy. Wednesday finally came and I went in for my esopagogastroduodendoscopy (EGD). Casey came with me and they took me to a hospital room where they told me everything that they were going to do, and asked for my medical history etc. After waiting for an iv to finish they took me into the surgery room. I only remember the first 5 minutes of the nurse talking to me and asking me questions and then she said "this may burn a little" and bam my arm burned and I was out. I only remember little snippets of the rest of the night. I would wake up and then fall back asleep.
Casey told me that when they wheeled me back into my hospital room I asked him about every 10 minutes if I had just come back in. Casey said that I kept saying I really felt like eating Olive Garden. I also kept telling him that the doctor had given me Demerol, and I had Demerol before when I hit my head on a pan... When Casey drove me home I kept telling him that I was way hungry so he picked me something up at Cousins, and I told him what I wanted and everything. I waited in the car as he picked something up at Pick N Save and when he came back I told him that I really felt like a Whopper (mind you I don't think i've ever had a whopper in my entire life). He then said "does Cousin's sound good?" I was like yeah, that does sound good. He told me that he already got me a sandwich and I asked what kind. He said Club, and I was like that's my favorite! thanks! (I don't remember any of this). Later I woke up on the couch when Casey was coming back from Cub Scouts. After that the sedatives finally wore off.

Tomorrow is Super Tuesday and I'm pretty excited. I wouldn't say that i've ever been interested in politics but MSNBC is one of the only sites that isn't blocked at my work so I read a lot of political articles now. It's fun to read stuff about Mitt too. My mom sent me this funny email:
What is this?
It's a Hill-Billy
