Things I love Fridays

Notice that I changed my blog template? I was pretty excited about changing Familia Verde up a little bit.  I know I haven’t blogged for a while…I think about potential posts a lot but then I question their blog worthibility.  Putting all worthibility worries aside I am going to blog again.

Lately I’ve come up with a lot of stuff that I love.

This bread is amazing.  I always buy it when I go to Sam’s Club.

One day a few months ago I decided to splurge and forgo Johnsons & Johnsons and spend a bit more on shampoo for Carly. I spent more in hopes that something new would help me comb through her hair better.  I am SO glad I bought this stuff.  It smells awesome, and now it’s easy to comb through Carly’s hair!

These crackers are my new favorite.  I even got my dad hooked on them!

I have fallen in love with Wet Ones.  I used to just use wet wipes to clean Carly’s face but now after using these I won’t go back to wet wipes for wiping faces and hands.  These smell really good, and I love that they’re antibacterial.  I’ve tried store brands but for me it’s worth it to spend an extra 40 cents to get these that are easy to get out of the canister and smell good.

And tomorrow I’m running my first 5K, wish me luck!

Halloween!

This Halloween Carly got to go trick or treating three times.  On Wednesday we went to our ward’s trunk or treat, on Friday we went trick or treating at my dad’s work, and then on Saturday night we went trick or treating in Casey’s sister’s neighborhood in Sandy.  It was so much fun!  Carly loved every minute of it. She was really good at picking out a treat and then saying thank you and bye.  After a while when her bag started getting full I started “helping” her pick out candy that I knew I wouldn’t eat, on the other hand, Casey would “guide her hand” toward the Twix or Snickers.

Carly loved her giraffe costume and started wearing it almost every day two weeks before Halloween.  We had such a fun Halloween weekend and I’m really glad we celebrated it to its fullest!

A few days later we met some cousins and went to my dad’s work to trick or treat.  Carly got a boatload of candy there and couldn’t carry her bag because it was too heavy.

Carly and Sadie love hugging each other.

My dad dressed up in his Karate Gee and put in his freaky contacts that he wears every year.  Carly got so freaked out by them.

My mom is a teacher and she always goes all out for Halloween.  This year she was a Spanish dancer.

My life has changed, again

Three years ago I splurged on a Pink Motorola Razr. I think I paid $50 for it (that was a splurge for me). I thought it was so cool. It’s weird how fast technology changes. After a year of having it it was ghetto. Last week I decided I needed to buy a new phone and switch phone plans. Right after my decision to buy a new phone my Razr decided to stop working (perfect timing!) I really wanted an iphone but I knew I couldn’t and wouldn’t justify spending that much money when we don’t have an income right now. So I ended up looking at reviews and finding a Samsung Galaxy S that is pretty much the same as an iphone but I got it for free! I got it yesterday and already my life has changed.

I love having internet on my phone, I love downloading and looking through all the fun apps I can put on my phone. Carly especially loves the Talking Tom Cat app, but I think I’m already getting sick of it. I am in love with my phone!

Our FIRST trip to a Pumpkin Patch

Tis the season for Pumpkin Patches!  Last week my family got together for a trip to Hee Haw Farms.  I was pretty impressed with the farm.  There was a petting farm, animal train, corn box, hay ride, and tons of pumpkins and animals.  We even got an extra long hayride because the tractor broke down, and we got to enjoy the country air until a new tractor came.

I wanted to sit in the corn box, it felt so cool.

Carly got really close to the animals.  I’ve never been so close to a goat before.  They have freaky eyes.DSC02768DSC02772 DSC02776

And some recent pictures.  Carly loves taking off her clothes and putting them back on (unsuccessfully).  She put a swim diaper on her head.

I had to move this car into the kitchen because I didn’t want to go sit outside in the cold anymore!  She adores that car, and loves filling it up with gas!

Family Pictures

My cousin’s wife, Kayla, was so kind to take family pictures of us.  She is a very talented photographer and is starting out a photography business.  We felt so lucky to have her take our pictures, thanks Kayla!

BYU Cougars! And Happy Halloween!

Carly has turned into quite a chatter box.  She is always talking.   Casey has  started teaching her how to say some really important words (that happen to be related to BYU), and he recorded her saying them.  Make sure to watch the end of video, Casey got her to show her “silly face” which is what she does to the rows behind us in church.

Things I Love Fridays – Chicken in a Biskit

I’ve loved these crackers ever since I was a kid.   They are so delicious and the perfect addition to a cheese ball.
