We're back, and freezing

We made it back to Milwaukee yesterday after our wonderful 2 week vacation in Utah... All of our exciting posts about the trip, including pics from Carly's blessing are coming!

(And I promise I won't neglect my blog for a month again!)

Time flies

It's crazy that our little Carly is already 2 weeks old. It has gone by way fast, but at the same time it seems like its been the longest 2 weeks of my life! I NEVER would have imagined that having a new baby would be such an emotional roller coaster. Every day brings a new challenge and a new worry. Although it's been by far the hardest 2 weeks of my life they have also been the best 2 weeks of my life. My mom kept telling me that things would seem a lot better once 2 weeks came around and she was right! I finally feel less like a zombie, my body feels semi-normal again, and I've mastered breastfeeding and diaper changes. Everyday Carly amazes me by how smart, sweet and alert she is. We are so blessed to have her in our lives!

Here are some recent pictures. My mom, dad and little brother came to visit and help out last Tuesday. They stayed until Saturday and it was great to have them here during Thanksgiving. It was so sad to say bye to them! I'm so grateful that we're going back to Utah for Christmas in 2 weeks!

We're parents!

Our beautiful Carly Gwen Green was born yesterday at 6:41 p.m.! She was 7 lbs. 3 oz. and 21 inches long. After a long night of strong contractions starting at 4 minutes apart at 6 p.m. and Lindsey wanting to labor as much as she could at home she was ready to go the hospital when the contractions became a lot stronger in the morning. We went into the hospital at 12:30 p.m. and Lindsey was dilated to a 4 and 90% effaced. She made quick progress and was fully dilated and ready to push at 5:00. We are so blessed to have such a perfect, healthy baby! More pics to come!

 

 

Going private, again

Our blog is going private again. We thought right before our little babe comes would be the best time. We wanted to make it public for a couple of weeks so we could make sure we don't leave anyone out! I think I have almost everyone's email addresses from when we went private before who wants to read our blog, but if I didn't have your email address before then please email me or leave a comment.

Baby update #1,000

I'm due in less than one week! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. Today I went to the doctor and just like the last 2 weeks she said "any day now!" I've heard that 80% of first pregnancies go past the due date so I've been counting on being a week late, but because of my doctor's reassurance that I'll have the baby any day I've been getting extremely anxious. The last 3 days I've been having a lot of contractions, and with every contraction I hope that I'll be able to find some regularity, but not yet! At least I know that I only have 2 weeks at the longest until my doctor will at least induce me. We'll let everyone know when she finally decides to come, but it could be a while longer...

Hello again

I've had some people say they've had trouble reading our blog since it has been private, so we're making our blog public again. Hopefully it will be easy reading now, and people can add us on Google Reader again!
