Nauvoo

Casey and I had a ton of fun in Nauvoo. On our way there we only ran into one flooding issue when the road we were supposed to take was flooded. We took a short detour and everything else went really well. We are so glad that we were able to go! It was a great mini vacation.

I hate softball

Casey has been injured so many times playing sports that before every game I have to make sure to remind him to be safe and then I pray he'll be alright. His poor hand has been injured so many times. A couple years ago he shattered a bone in his ring finger playing soccer and had to get surgery to get screws inserted in the joints and since then he's still had multiple injuries. Last Thursday he had a softball game and I told him to not slide into any bases, but of course he was too into the game to remember my words. He slid head first into 2nd and slid into someone's cleat instead. I knew it was bad when he told me that he couldn't play anymore and we had to leave. Right when we got into the car I could tell it was pretty bad because he felt like he was going to pass out and his finger was bleeding pretty bad. I took him to the emergency room and they took great care of him. He ended up slicing the top of his pinky and if was hanging by a little piece of skin! I'm so glad that he's alright now.

Goodbye old clothes

Within the last two days it has really hit me that I'm pregnant. I can't wear any of my old pants anymore, can't sleep, and I can finally feel the baby kick!

...And I've realized that the hardest part of being pregnant for me has been not being able to eat Cousins and custard. I always crave them because I know I can't have them!

Casey is the best husband in the world. He is so incredibly sweet to take care of me. He'll be an amazing dad!

Nauvoo

This weekend we're going to Nauvoo. We are so excited! I have the time off and we've been wanting to go ever since we moved to Milwaukee. We'll be there for two days. Casey and I both went to Nauvoo a long time ago and we kind of don't know what we should do besides going to the temple and going to all the old houses and shops etc. If anyone has any ideas let me know because we want to make the most out of our short time there!

I want a snow cone!

One thing that I miss most about summer in Utah is snow cones. There were tons of snow cone places all over. I am disappointed that I haven't seen ANY snow cones places here in Wisconsin. I've even looked into where I could possibly find one by looking in the yellow pages and asking people but no one knows where I can get one. I decided that someone (preferably a friend) needs to buy a rolling Snowie cart and start up a business. I think it would make good money. I found out that for the basics to start everything up it costs $21,350.
anyone want a business venture?

We're having a ...

We actually still aren't quite sure what we're having. Our baby's umbilical cord was right in between it's legs! We did everything to try to get the baby and it's umbilical cord to move but the baby just wanted to lay on it's side with it's back towards us. We are pretty sad that we don't know what we're having but because the baby wouldn't move we may be able to get another ultrasound in a couple of weeks to get measurements of it's pelvis and stomach.

It was fun to be able to watch our baby moving it's arms and legs for a whole hour! It kept moving it's arms like it was stretching out and putting it's fingers in it's mouth. It was amazing to see it's little fingers and toes and see how amazing it is how babies can grow so perfectly. We feel so lucky!

Staycation

Today was my last day of work before my two week "staycation." I asked for this time off four months ago when we bought our tickets to Hawaii. Since we never got our money back from the bankrupt ATA we aren't going to Hawaii anymore. Although we don't have anywhere exotic to go to I still am taking the days off to hang out at the pool and do homework. I'm in great need of a break from work.

To start our vacation off tomorrow Casey and I are finding out if we're having a boy or a girl! I'm so excited. I'm mostly excited to see our baby's arms, legs and cute head. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post!

Computers and babies

Our computer crashed on Sunday and tonight we finally were able to pick it up from being fixed. It was really weird to not be able to use the internet all week. Yesterday I found out that my work's firewall was down and I partook of the opportunity to catch up on some email/blog reading, but it was only a few hours until the IT guy in charge of those sorts of things fixed it. Now I am happy to have our computer back, but it also felt nice to be without it for a while and spend more time reading, watching TLC, and having an excuse to not do my homework all week.

Our blog is officially going private on Thursday or Friday (I'm not quite sure what day I have to work yet) and that is when we should find out what we're having!!!!!! It's a nice present to us for not being able to go to Hawaii with my family on Wednesday (we never got our money back). We aren't hoping for a boy more than a girl or vice versa. It will be so nice to be able to start seriously thinking of some baby names. We have NO boy names that we can come to any agreement on. We at least have a couple girl names that we really like though. We are so excited!

Blog = private

After much deliberation the past few weeks Casey and I are making our blog private. We feel like we write a lot of personal things that we don't want people we don't know knowing. We also don't want to feel like we have to leave certain things out of our blog anymore. If you've been reading our blog please leave us your email address so we can invite you! Sorry to all you Google Reader users!

My Birthday

My birthday was great! Everyone at work was really nice to wish me a happy birthday. Casey surprised me by sending flowers to me at work! He is so sweet. After we both got back from work we went to Texas Roadhouse. We had never been before, but we heard from friends that it was really good. I got ribs that I heard were incredible. I took one bite of them and almost had to run to the bathroom to throw up. It's so weird to me that some days nothing will bother me and then other days random foods that sound good to me will make me feel sick. At least I'm done with the morning sickness stage! After that we drove home and had cake I opened presents. Our families were so kind to give me such nice presents. Casey gave me a way nice Sony digital camera. I haven't found out how to work it yet so hopefully my blog pictures will be looking better soon!

My birthday cake. I wanted a cake from Sam's Club so bad. Although Costco cakes are better I had to settle for the Sam's cake because our closest Costco is too far away . However, it wasn't too hard to settle for!
The beautiful flowers Casey sent to me at work. He was so thoughtful to make sure there were Hydrangeas and Gerber daisies in there.
Extremely cute pop-up birthday card my parent's sent to me. The candles come out and turn into a card!

The visit

Tyson and Jami came to visit last Saturday. We started the trip off right by going to Cheesecake Factory. We always take people there when they come to visit because it gives us an excuse to go. On Sunday we gave them a tour of Milwaukee and drove down Lake Dr. and took them past Kohls Corporate offices to show them Casey's office. Casey had to work on Monday so Tyson and Jami were entertained by me as we went shopping, to Culvers, and to Sprecher. I decided that I never get sick of going to Sprecher. We take anyone who will come to visit us and I think I've been six times now. Instead of trying the array of sodas every time now I only stick to getting refills of the good flavors (Cream Soda, and Root Beer). New this tour was the Cherry Cola. On Tuesday Casey had work off and we were planning on going to Chicago for the day. We decided not to after there were severe thunderstorm warnings. It ended up only sprinkling during the day. Tyson and Jami helped us get some things done like fix our brake light in our car, get Casey camping gear, and eat leftovers. We went to Holy Hill in the morning, and hung out most of the rest of the day . On Wednesday they left. It was so fun to have them here to visit. They were so nice to come! They are our only siblings that have braved the Milwaukee trip (except Jacob who came one time with my parents). Just ask them and they'll tell you it was their favorite trip ever.

Casey made them pose in front of the handicapped sign
Beautiful Holy Hill. It was our first time going.

Holy Hill is the highest elevation in S.E. Wisconsin. The church is ran by friars, and has cool sculptures all around the grounds. There is also a grotto where you can fill your bucket/bottle (a spigot for each, your choice) with holy water.

Overlooking S.E. Wisconsin. It's so green and beautiful!
... and I wanted to show a picture of the beautiful Peony Casey got me for Mother's Day. It bloomed a couple of days after he gave it to me and it smelled soooo good. The wind outside destroyed it and now it doesn't have a flower anymore. Good thing I took a picture!

Cinco de Junio

I have been extremely busy the last couple of days and it has felt great! Casey's brother Tyson and his wife Jami came to visit us the past four days, and I had work off everyday day they were here while Casey only had one day off. Today is my birthday and I had to work a full shift (9-5) and tomorrow I have a full shift as well. Even though I had to work on my birthday it was still really fun. Casey was so sweet and surprised me ALL day long with things! When I have some free time this weekend I will blog about when Tyson and Jami were here and my amazing birthday happenings.
